Phoenix Management Services, an operationally focused advisory firm that provides turnaround, crisis and interim management and investment banking services to middle market companies in transition, is celebrating its 25th Anniversary. The firm was founded in 1985 in Chadds Ford, PA.
“We started with one office and a handful of people and have blossomed into a full-service turnaround and investment banking firm with national reach,” said Mitchell B. Arden, CTP, one of Phoenix’s founding partners. “Over the past 25 years, we”ve worked with distressed companies in just about every industry; there is not a platform we have not touched.”
In fact, Phoenix has worked with several municipal platforms, one such was Philadelphia Gas Works. “When I was Mayor of Philadelphia, I had the pleasure of working with Phoenix in helping to address a difficult situation with Philadelphia Gas Works. Their professionalism and dedication to providing real solutions was refreshing. Phoenix has grown to a team of over thirty professionals with offices nationwide including Chadds Ford (outside Philadelphia), New York City, Boston, Washington D.C., Ft. Lauderdale, Cleveland and Dallas.

In 1989, Phoenix Capital Resources was started to assist challenged and growth-oriented companies with complex transactions. Phoenix, which continues to expand its service offerings, recently added a healthcare practice group and expects to further expand geographically throughout the U.S. With a close eye on the economy, the firm will add people and expertise in business sectors that may need turnaround and capital advisory services in the future.
