Phoenix Management Services Announces Several Key Staff Promotions

Philadelphia, PA (January 28, 2016) —- Phoenix Management Services, a leading provider of sustainable, operationally focused solutions, is pleased to announce the promotion of several top professionals to support the firm’s continuous growth.

Rodney Gayle, a pragmatic and metric-driven leader, was promoted to Managing Director. He has more than 25 years of experience in operational and technology executive roles across a broad array of industries. With a background in manufacturing, technology, and financial services, he provides Phoenix clients with a unique blend of functional insight across all areas of operations including distribution, quality, vendor management, business engineering, and process improvement. Mr. Gayle’s blend of operational and technology expertise allows him to deliver immediate value in areas of corporate governance, M&A, business risk evaluation, and strategic planning. He is a graduate of Drexel University with a Bachelor of Science in both Operations Management and Human Resource Management. He is registered with FINRA and holds his Series 6 and Series 26 licenses.

Michael Gaul was promoted to Senior Director of the firm. He has over 13 years of financial and crisis management expertise and has participated in over 75 engagements since joining the firm in 2003. His extensive history working in the areas of turnaround and interim management, financial forecasting, corporate administration, transaction advisory, and investment banking enables him to quickly identify clients’ operational challenges and deliver to his clients’ effective and sustainable solutions. He is experienced with companies reorganizing under Chapter 11 protection of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code as well as transactions involving Section 363 of the Bankruptcy Code in which debtor companies transfer their assets to a buyer with speed, efficiency, and the approval of the Bankruptcy Court. Mr. Gaul graduated from Georgetown University with a B.S. in Finance and holds his Series 7, Series 63, and Series 79 licenses.

Mark Karbiner was also promoted to Senior Director of the firm. He joined Phoenix in 2003 and has participated in over 75 engagements since joining the firm. He has worked onsite with many Phoenix clients to provide turnaround management and capital advisory services within a wide range of industries. Mr. Karbiner’s diversified experience enables him to provide interim management as well as financial and operational leadership for middle market companies that are facing a wide range of transitional situations. In addition, he has completed over 25 sale and restructuring engagements, involving mergers and acquisitions advisory, complex valuations, financial restructurings, and private placements of debt and equity. Mr. Karbiner earned a J.D. from Villanova University and a B.A. from Colgate University. He is registered with FINRA and holds his Series 7, Series 63, Series 79, and Series 24 licenses.

Kevin Barr was promoted to Vice President. He joined Phoenix in June 2010 and has over 6 years of experience in financial advisory, turnaround management, transaction advisory, and investment banking. Mr. Barr’s breadth of experiences within all areas of the Phoenix clients’ enterprise lifecycle allows him to craft and provide tailored solutions for Phoenix clients. He also provides hands-on transactional leadership for companies that are in need of capital, financial restructuring, and M&A assistance. Mr. Barr earned his Bachelor of Science in Economics, with a concentration in Finance, from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation from the CFA Institute and is registered with FINRA and holds his Series 79 license.

Patrick Bellot was promoted to Associate. Mr. Bellot joined Phoenix in 2014 and has bought to the firm his solid business thinking skills and capabilities related to organizational and process changes. Mr. Bellot is responsible for developing financial models, providing financial analysis, conducting market research, completing transaction advisory service assignments (QofE), and analysis in the preparation of confidential materials in support of investment banking engagements. Mr. Bellot is a Cum Laude graduate from Suffolk University with a B.A. in Finance. He is registered with FINRA and holds his Series 79 license.
