Dennis Bobker is a Director at Phoenix with over 30 years of experience in operations and finance of both domestic and international organizations. Mr. Bobker joined Phoenix Management Services in 2002. Mr. Bobker’s particular expertise includes asset preservation, working capital management, and acquisition and divestiture strategies. He is an established operationally-biased executive with the ability to formulate, implement, and direct the management of public, equity-sponsored, private, and family-held companies.

Mr. Bobker has experience in companies reorganizing under Chapter 11 protection of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code, as well as situations involving workouts out of the court system. He is experienced with transactions involving Section 363 of the Bankruptcy Code in which debtor companies transfer their assets to a buyer with speed, efficiency, and the approval of the Bankruptcy Court.

Mr. Bobker has been successful in integrating all of the various constituencies that are involved in the turnaround process. These include the debtor, secured creditors, unsecured creditors, equity sponsors, trade vendors, senior management, mid-level management, and staff. It is this involvement with all aspects and perspectives in the corporate renewal process that has enabled him to be able to uncover the operational impediments that need to be removed or modified in order to facilitate the recovery.

Selected Advisory Assignments

Served in an interim management role as a Chief Operating Officer of a manufacturer of high-tech advanced electrical systems. He managed the company through its transition. The company today operates as a successful business unit of a European-based electrical manufacturer.

Worked on behalf of secured creditors in situations involving financial distress of their clients, including an agricultural industry products manufacturer. His responsibilities included the preservation of company’s assets in order to maximize the recovery for the lending institution. The completion of a Private Asset Sale successfully recovered the bank’s position.

Served as a financial advisor to a Mid-Western Oil Refining, service station and C-Store Operator. Implemented various initiatives that improved both cash flow and profitability through an aggressive production management program.

Selected Capital Advisory Transactions

Served as the financial advisor to a large international high-tech products distributor to a market leader through Section 363 of the Bankruptcy Code.

Served as a financial advisor to the secured lender in the sale of assets of an electrical products manufacturer to a leading European manufacturer of like products wishing to establish a presence in the United States.

Served as a financial advisor to the secured lender in the sale of assets of an agricultural products manufacturer. Project involved development of targets, splitting of the company into two separate units and negotiating the sale to two different entities.

Prior Experience

Prior to joining Phoenix, Mr. Bobker worked extensively in international markets throughout the world. Through these involvements, he has negotiated, implemented, and managed the development of a European Distribution Centre for a large distributor of aerospace products that was in transition. The operation was created to facilitate supply chain logistics for a number of Europe’s leading air carriers. In this capacity, he was also responsible for quality systems management with the creation of an ISO9002 Registration program to encompass the operating structure. The engagement ended successfully with the divestiture of the business unit to a market leader within the industry.

Education/Affiliations

Mr. Bobker is a graduate of the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut with degrees in finance and marketing. He is an active member of the Turnaround Management Association in both New York and New Jersey. He is also affiliated with both the Commercial Finance Association and Association for Corporate Growth in both New York and New Jersey.
