Rodney Gayle is a Managing Director at Phoenix with more than 25 years of experience in operations and technology executive roles across a broad array of industries in small, medium and large organizations. With a background in manufacturing, technology, and financial services, he brings a unique blend of functional insight across all functional areas of operations including distribution, quality, vendor management, business engineering and process improvement. This insight blended with technology expertise allows for seamless, integration of business intelligence, organizational & cultural design, and compensation. The blend of operational and technology expertise allows Rodney to provide clients immediate value in areas of corporate governance, M&A, business risk evaluation and strategic planning.

SELECTED ADVISORY ASSIGNMENTS

  • Served as Operations Advisor and led the operation assessment and turnaround process for a $45 million annual revenue precision parts manufacturer that was experiencing profitability challenges and underperforming. Mr. Gayle established a continuous improvement team to focus on critical issues in the operational processes. He led the development of a critical metrics solution to monitor, track and improve manufacturing efficiency. He drove the change required to recommit to the enterprise platform for planning and drive efficiency and predictability into the manufacturing output. He was able to re-invigorate an operations staff to provide focus on gaps in quality management, re-engineering of quality process and re-focus on critical roles and leadership within operations. Mr. Gayle provided technical leadership to guide IT. He was a trusted advisor and facilitated the transition to new operational and organization leadership.
  • Mr. Gayle served as Operations Advisor to assess the viability and quality of earnings for a manufacturing company. He provided insight and guidance to assess the issues and risk as well as identified opportunities for profit improvement and growth.

PRIOR EXPERIENCE

Before joining Phoenix, Mr. Gayle worked in a variety of entrepreneurial and leadership roles. For 15 years he served in several leadership roles with a Fortune 500 company, MetLife. With a focus in technology and operational functions, he served insurance, banking and customer service verticals. Mr. Gayle has held sales management positions within the beverage industry and managed distribution, logistics and operations for a fast-growth software company. He spent many years as an apprentice, manager and partner for a private company in precision machining, plastic forming and manufacturing where he provided hands-on leadership to service to a variety of industries.

EDUCATION / AFFILIATIONS

Mr. Gayle graduated from Drexel University with a Bachelors of Science in both Operations Management and Human Resource Management. Mr. Gayle is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt attained from Villanova University. He has been previously registered with FINRA holding a Series 6 and Series 26 licenses, has held additional insurance licenses in Life and Health and Property and Casualty as well as designated as an Accredited Mortgage Professional by the MBA.
