Acute Care Hospitals – 2

Phoenix completes a Quality of Enterprise® review for an operator of acute care hospitals and negotiates a favorable transaction value.

The Client

A for-profit Southeast based operator of twenty-seven Acute Care Hospitals with annual revenue of approximately $1.4B.

The Challenge

A single facility located in Kentucky did not fit within the strategic model of the company. A failed computer conversion, coupled with significantly mounting marketplace competition from the University of Kentucky Health System, and other non-profit providers made consistent profitability difficult.

The Solution

Retained by the “financing arm” of the transaction, Phoenix completed a Quality of Enterprise® review and worked to negotiate a favorable transaction value and structure for the financing arm and the acquiring company, a start-up healthcare company based in the southeast.
